Butterfly Lifecycle

Spring
I used this rabbit shaped egg tray from the Easter section at Walmart as a place for the students to put the upper and lower case eggs once they found the matches.
Here is a paper version at Kidzone.com:

I printed it on different colors of cardstock and laminated them before cutting out the eggs.
Books:
Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle
Waiting for Wings by Lois Elhert
Little Cloud by Eric Carle
The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle
The kids loved watching bean seeds sprout. We put five beans in a ziploc bag with a folded wet paper towel. The bags were taped to our classroom window (with names written in permanent marker).
Of course we also read "Jack and the Beanstalk."
The kids can make their flowers "grow" as the straw stem can go up and down through a hole in the paper.
